Je Sung Lee is an artist and designer, who aims to deconstruct the socially designed paradoxes. By defining himself as an ‘inbetweener,’ he wants to be a Catalyst which initiates conversation beyond the social barrier. He joined MIT Media Lab’s Poetic Justice Group as a research assistant and has been engaged in several research projects in collaboration.

The Art, Design, and the Public Domain program cultivates dialogues on the contemporary issues of urban, historical, aesthetic, and technological culture, while developing a practice of creative and imaginative methodologies with an emphasis on social engagement.
– Courses included Interaction design, Game making, Digital media study, Landscape architecture, Video projection, Sound, Performance, Interdisciplinary art practices at Harvard GSD, MIT ACT, MIT Media Lab, Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts.

“Euljiroum” is a local revitalizing project in an artist-in- residence program in Seoul. The program confronts slum problems in urban area Euljiro, Seoul.
2015-17 Glass to meet you / Granted by Korean SMBA
“Glass to meet you” is a project utilizes unrecyclable glass to benefit small-scale artist communities. He developed several educational toolkits and conducted workshops, sharing craft expertise with the public.
2014-17 Studio Zero dot zero / Granted by Korean Social entrepreneur incubation program
This is a Design Studio Founded by Je Sung Lee and Narrae Kang which aims for lowering the barriers of social classification with methodologies of design and craft.
